WD2XES will be back on 137.779 kHz tonight with DFCW starting around 0100 UTC. The usual 30 or 60 second screen should work fine. John Andrews, W1TAG/WD2XES
Joe, The beacon is up and running. 10 watts to a 100m wire at 10m. Aerial current 0.5 amps. QRSS75. A quick screen shot from Raymond, Maine (FN43sv), taken at 2318 UTC. John A., W1TAG JPEG image
A belated thank-you to Jean-Pierre, Henny and Brian for the reports and captures from the last several nights. Last night, Brian's best copy was between 0130 and 0300, where J-P's was after that. XES
Good copy of WD2XES on 137.779 kHz last night on the F1AFJ grabber. Also some good periods on the CT1DRP grabber. Operation was from 0200 to 0600 UTC. Thanks to Jean-Pierre and Brian for keeping up t
WD2XES will be running WOLF (10) tonight on 137.441 kHz. Can't start until 0100 UTC, though, but will leave it running until 1000 UTC for those to the west. John Andrews, W1TAG/WD2XES
Graham, The audio passband for WSPR is 1400 to 1600 Hz. Presumably, any legit signal in that range can be decoded. Nothing seen here as of 0024 UTC. A US station (!) was very close to that frequency
For those fortunate enough to own an HP48 or similar calculator, you can just enter a vector (resistance, reactance) and hit 1/x to get the admittance. John A., W1TAG
I had some copy of Chris' QRSS10 signal on 503.952 kHz last night. I didn't notice the signal until 0245Z, and it appears to have shut down at 0315Z. Fading prevented clean copy of a whole callsign,
Markus, XGJ should have at least a few dB (my guess = 5dB) on XES due to higher ERP. So that may be the big difference. The next WOLF session will have to wait until Wednesday night, my time. Propaga
Gary, By frequency, that would be Jay, WE2XGR/3 (W1VD), who has been sending regular speed CW nightly on 506.500 kHz. He looks for replies in the first quarter of the hour. John Andrews, W1TAG I have
Jean-Pierre, Michel, Thanks for the nice reports! It was interesting to see copy as late as 0800. XES will be off-air for the next two nights. John Andrews, W1TAG/WD2XES
Markus, Though I noted Hartmut's reply, I did a double-check on the XES frequency. It could not have been more than 0.01 Hz off, so that would not have been an issue. I'll probably try another run to
Jean-Pierre, Markus, Hartmut, Thanks for looking. I was definitely on 137.441 (as proven by Hartmut's copy), but the frequency was chosen for Laurence in the frozen wilds of Alaska, who did get some
Hartmut, Gary, I was on 507.000 last night with QRSS3 sending XGR/3 from about 0230 to 0255, watching Dave Pick's screen (nothing seen there). So that might have been me. John Andrews, W1TAG / WE2XGR
