The VLF aerial was lowered Tuesday in anticipation of a sleet storm and the LF tx was switched off yesterday due to a mismatch caused by tower icing. The LF toploading has been on the ground since being iced down on 17 April. The 'M' on the message stands for 'monopole'. It seems the durnal phase inversions have returned on VLF. I have not seen this since autumn past. The carrier peak has been much weaker than the sidebands at +-12 uHz on spectra from Paul's 8.27 kHz spectrograms. If the tower survives tonight, the transatlantic LF and VLF serivce may resume tomorrow. Thanks to all for the reports and detections. 73 Joe VO1NA On Thu, 25 Apr 2019, Domenico IZ7SLZ wrote: > VO1NA activity on LF picked up in JN80nu (only one decode yesterday): > > 2019-04-24_03:00:00 137477.000Hz N=7 T=3s 8K19A CRC=16 list=2000 sym=608 > Duration=1824s > T_OFFSET=0.0s F_OFFSET=0.000Hz > initial reference phase 70.4 amplitude 3.587e-01 > carrier phase: -2.5 deg > carrier Eb/N0: -0.7 dB > carrier Es/N0: -12.53 dB > carrier S/N: 15.31 dB in 548.2 uHz, -17.30 dB in 1Hz, -51.28 dB in 2.5kHz > found rank 93 ber 3.8651e-01 Eb/N0 -2.0 M -9.626523733e+00 ph 5 > 150,150,150,150 *[10W___M]* > carrier phase: 13.2 deg > carrier Eb/N0: -0.3 dB > carrier Es/N0: -12.17 dB > carrier S/N: 15.67 dB in 548.2 uHz, -16.94 dB in 1Hz, -50.92 dB in 2.5kHz > found rank 52 ber 3.7993e-01 Eb/N0 -1.5 M -9.774923086e+00 ph 21 > 150,150,120,120 *[10W___M]* > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > Receiver restored in my remote location after many weeks of inactivity, but > no internet at moment. > > 73, Domenico IZ7SLZ > > > > > > On Thu, 25 Apr 2019 at 17:35, Paul Nicholson wrote: > >> >> I haven't seen Joe's signal since about 06:00 UT on the 23rd. >> >> Transmitter down? >> -- >> Paul Nicholson >> -- >> >> >> >
