Content preview: GM Genosse Roman, Well, in 2010/2011 i used a generator for the kite experiments. And meanwhile there are modern batteries available, the LiFePo4 technique. The generator is loud, it smells, it is inefficient, it does not handle dynamic power changes (when doing CW :-) ). Beeing loud is the strongest argument here. I am transmitting in a forest, near a street where many sportive peolpe riding their bicycle. It is always better not to cause to much sensation! And the battery is totally silent. During the week i can charge it with solar power! It is clean and silent. The new battery contains about 1.5 kWh and can supply a 1 kW PA if i want. It's weight is about 17 kg and it is quite compact and has a built in display which shows me the remaining capacity in % and in Ah, it shows the voltage, current and power. This is very comfortable. I'm fascinated by the technique. I'm fascinated by the technique. I am quite sure that there will be a 'battery revolution' in the next 5 years. Together with solar modules it will be possible to store enough energy needed for the year so can will not depend on external companies dictating the price for electric energy. The prices are rising and rising here in DL. They want 0.3 EUR for 1 kWh meanwhile. If you can produce your own energy, clean and silent, then you can say to them "Do what you want, rise the prices each year, but at some point you will need to find people who are willing to pay it!" So story of its own..... 73, Stefan Am 04.09.2018 23:33, schrieb Roman: > TNX for info, Genosse Stefan! -) > > Why you use battaries for TX, not a compact motor-generator? > >
