The good news is that I have now installed a mini-whip receive antenna, so I can at least give reports on Opera and WSPR when the main antenna is down. The whip works surprisingly well, with less local electrical noise whilst still producing good strength from the wanted signals. It remains to be seen whether it will survive when I transmit a few metres away from it. Mike, G3XDV ===========
