Thanks Markus for the message idea :) The idiom is familiar to me and I'm fairly sure I remember our landlord using it in 1969 while my wife and I lived in Morlautern near Kaiserslautern. Our landlord and his wife were just a few years older than us and we became very good friends. We kept in touch and had planned to visit them but sad to say we waited to long. His wife died a few years ago. Very fond memories and lots of photos of the little town and countryside. The house is still there: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Obere+Str.+9,+67659+Kaiserslautern,+Germany/@49.4694749,7.7651964,316m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x479612887a325243:0x5c12f0cb1c44b365!8m2!3d49.4694426!4d7.7647763 WX looks good for another run tonight.
