A/ Your best bet is to buy a serial to USB adaptor and then a pair of switching transistors one to key the tx through the key hole of your tx. If you are not using break in then the other transistor is need to switch the trx from tx to rx and visas versa. B/ If your software only produces a cw audio tone for ssb rigs then you will need to make a simple amplifier and tone detector.to 1/ switch the trx from rx to tx with a bit of delay to allow for inter dit spaces and 2/ key the tx through the aforementioned key hole with out a delay so it tracks the keying of the tone precisely. There are probably other ways to do it like yet again buy a serial card to pop in your PC or even a parallel card you still have to build a simple transistor switch for the one or two functions described above. I am sure you can buy the whole kit and caboodle to do what I have described .but I don't know where from. However construction is very simple for us Radio Amateurs. The schematic is usually found in the "Help" files associated with the software. Hope this helps!! 73 es GL Pete M0FMT GQRP#15097.in IO91UX -------------------------------------------- On Thu, 27/10/16, g3kevmal@talktalk.net wrote: Subject: LF: QRSS GENERATOR To: "rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org" , "rsgb_lf_group@yahoogroups.co.uk" Date: Thursday, 27 October, 2016, 11:33 MFMy computers do not have a RS232 serial port and I needed an alternative method to generate and key  my SSB transceivers in QRSS mode. The method used is SPECLAB to generate an appropriate tone , in  my case 700 Hz, which keys the TX in SSB MODE.Ideal method for any SSB transceiver or Transverter using VOX, no hardwire switching needed.I do not  have a USB/SERIAL port adaptor which of  course is another method but needs a hard wired line between computer and TX for keyingOthers may already be using this  method but I have  not seen any details on the subject    DE MAL/G3KEV    Sent from Mail for Windows 10
