Uwe,

The QRN was v= ery low this morning! Have you been on air? It would be good to observe= the QRN situation just like the WX situation before starting a transmi= ssion because both decides if a decode is possible :-)

Uwe, your transmissions are very interesting=2E I'm looki= ng forward to receive the 5 char message at 30s=2E We can try 25s symbo= ls later :-)

Congrats to Stefan and Markus=2E

The EbNaut Sender is prepared fo= r length 5, retaining period 30=2E
But: this afternoon the sky suddenly turned from blue to dark gre= y, so possibly the TX stays off=2E

We will see=2E

Uwe,

=2E=2E=2E me too ;-) I was actua= lly surprised about the successful decode because the nighttime carrier= was well visible in Heidelberg but not at all in my spectrogram=2E

Anyway b= oth our decodes were close to the limit, so for the next step = ;I would suggest to try 5 char but stay with 30 sec symbols=2E Due to t= he FEC and CRC overhead, going from 3 to 5 characters (1= =2E667 x payload) will increase the total time only by a fact= or of  1=2E23 so we already loose 1=2E32 dB sensitivity=2E= Shortening the symbols from 30 to 20 seconds would cost another 1=2E76= dB=2E

Thanks for the test!

All the best,
Markus (DF6NM)

Hello Uwe,

Thanks for the VLF transmission=2E No problem to = decode the message! See attachment=2E
If Markus can decode and no ot= her station wants to try, maybe we can try 20s symbols and 5 characters= , your callsign for example :-)

As you probably saw, i saw your = carrier on 8269=2E99 Hz in my 6000 window in the city but not in the fo= rest=2E Either it is a propagation phenomenon that i don't understand y= et or there is still something wrong with the drift calibration=2E I wi= ll today go on the tree again to re-configure the GPS-module and see if= this makes a difference=2E=2E=2E
