Yes I remember a time - a few years ago now - that VLF didn't go beyond the back yard, a time when there was talk of dreamers on the LF list and the sound of gauntlets hitting the floor. Did someone change the laws of physics? No, someone came along with a big kite and changed the game. And now - messages are routine, 10uW will do 1000km, 150uW for T/A. But, it is still not easy to tx or rx. The wavelength, the QRM, the counting of electrons, the effort to claim another 0.1 dB. It can never be plug and play like HF or VHF. Thank goodness for that! -- Paul Nicholson --
