As said he is very interes= ted. I suggested to start with a miniwhip antenna and he is building it rig= ht now. If the local QRM is not too bad he should have a decent RX station. Hello Stefan,

yes, after reading his blog I did contact Andre. As said he is very inte= rested. I suggested to start with a miniwhip antenna and he is building it = right now. If the local QRM is not too bad he should have a decent RX stati= on.

I am not sure the Eu-ZS path is as good as the Eu-FR5 path as apart from= the Mediterranean it's land all the way down. But for sure it is worth a try an= d the it is the right time of the year for north-south grey line propagatio= n.

An alternative for WSPR would be to try to leave a t= race on his grabber. I suggested to switch from QRSS3 to QRSS10 for that pu= rpose.

Andre is also collecting the parts needed for a 1 kW= transmitter. So maybe we can try to get his signal in fall (he would certa= inly have a much larger audience in Eu than we in ZS)

Hi Rik,

Have you been in contact with him?
Do you think he has a serious RX? Is it worth a try? Now these days there i= s the greyline on the straight way from DL to ZS and i had the idea to run = a 50% WSPR burst during the sunset time...
If it works to FR5ZX, then it could theoretically work to ZS too (?)
Right now he is not active in WSPR but maybe he will show up in the map. At= least i started the TX now until 18 UTC in WSPR 33%...

Hello all,

some days ago I came across the website of Andre, ZS1JEN, and learned th= at 472-479 kHz is "released" in ZS.

Andre is very interested in 472 kHz (and 136 kHz) and did set up a (temp= oray) WSPR station and grabber (http://blogzs1jen.dyndns.org:83/472khz-g= rabber/)

So if anyone wants to try to leave a trace in ZS ...
