At the time he was active on 137 and he was a source of empirical knowledge and positively saved me a lotof gotchas in getting XDW up to snuff. It was a dark night and when he fired up the Decca we saw some low level corona in the damp saliferous atmosphere near the South coast - I think he modded the coil just shortly after that. He was a gent and like many others on this reflector are grateful for his civil and military service.
