All the contacts you quote are around the 2000km max range so are one hop and the precipitated hot electrons did not appear until daylight, but it is possible these initially aided the Italian copy and your 2000km daylight paths. These will probably disappear later in the day. > > At longer range Roelof reports good signals from Joe VO1NA up to two hours after ground sunrise. This is a 2-hop path. This could have been due to precipitared electrons "filling" the morning dip on the 2nd hop but it was a little early for that. There is also my belief that solar wind electrons may aid E-layer ionisation so mild activity may lead to better night-time conditions. My suspicion is that the paths will not be quite so good tonight....we shall see. The geomagnetic activity does not seem too intense so will probably soon decay, and we will be back to "normal" again. > > Alan > G3NYK > > > > ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Dennison" > To: ; > Sent: Sunday, October 18, 2015 12:53 PM > Subject: LF: Good 136kHz conditions > > >> Good conditions and activity last night on the 136kHz band.
