Having used a ganged potentiometer from an old sound mixer for the input gain, I'd forgotten over more than 20 years that it was a log/antilog pot so that's sorted and it seems fine now. I hope to be on today as soon as I've finished installing a cooling fan in the R5000 Rx. One odd thing on LF, most of my electronic time-keeping appliances use MSF Anthorn for the purpose and they are in the house but a new weather station uses DCF77 (it's made for the German market) and it's only 2m from the LF antenna! It receives externally, i.e. in the external section, retransmitting to indoors on UHF. Unsurprisingly my LF transmissions wipe out the time on the indoor display. Bah! Hugh, M0DSZ
