Hi Roger,

Just read your mail. No, I am not your kind benefactor but can truly 
sympathise. I too, at the age of 70 fell victim(?) to a stroke, probably 
resulting from pre-existing medical problems (I have late-diagnosed 
genetic haemochromatosis),

I too found people in this community incredibly kind, understanding and 
generous. Alan, g3nyk is a former colleague and business partner and has 
helped me to keep an interest as have members of various groups within 
the amateur radio community.

I trust your stroke was not too debilitating. I have been left with 
problems in my right leg. My wife who also had a couple of years before 
me an ischaemic event, unfortunately lost the sight of her left eye. We 
have learned to (sort of) cope.

What we learned, was that everyone's stroke is different and individual 
and only really understood by the individual. Even then there are 
aspects that are difficult to explain to others.
