Jim AA5BW -----Original Message----- From: owner-rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org [mailto:owner-rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org] On Behalf Of Paul Nicholson Sent: Sunday, March 9, 2014 5:56 AM To: rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org Subject: Re: LF: Daytime 29.499 kHz I think the propagation at 29.5 has changed, even though NAA looks normal at 24kHz. There's a new pattern to the phase change: a fairly rapid reduction of phase lead by about 120 deg during the first 2 hours. Minimum phase at about 03:00 instead of 04:00 and after that a slow phase increase. Last night: http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/29499_140309a.gif Previous night: http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/29499_140308a.gif Two nights in a row we got that 120 phase shift in 2 hours. Other possibility is the loading coil tuning is changing as it warms up from a cold start. Signal last night from Dex on 29501 was also weaker than the other day http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/29501_140309a.gif These opera transmissions might be a bit weaker than the Morse anyway because the duty cycle is less ?? Signal on 29499 declined during the night, NAA increased a little. -- Paul Nicholson --
