Content preview: VLF, I just had a phone call to DJ6AN, the EMV (EMC) consultant of the German amateur radio club. He confirmed that typical 3rd harmonic supressions of an amateur radio station is in the range of 40...60 dB or better, and that one can feel fine with 50 dB :-) He agreed that the station does not have to feel bad when transmitting with 750W on 160m (in DL) :-) He confirmed that thus he is radiating something in the range of 7.5 mW with a lambda 3/4 vertical on the 53m band. Then his confirmations took a bit longer (but he didn't deny) :-), he confirmed that everyone is free to try to receive this signal on 53m. Confirmations became slower and slower... Also confirmed that if the 160m TX stn transmits in e.g. OP8, experiments can be done in 53m in OP8 and that (of course) the 160m transmission does not become illegal just because someone is receiving the 3rd harmonic. Then there was no progress any more and he told me to ask someone else... Somehow an interesting phenomenon :-) 73, Stefan/DK7FC
