Obviously it is a good QTH when you need wind=20 :-) So i cannot use that QTH any more. I would need to find a new one. I don't want to say that the VLF times are over for me, maybe there will=20 come another season sometime. A lot can be done! :-) What about your location in AK? Is there no chance that YOU begin to do=20 some TX experiments, by using an "earth antenna" (uuuh, some excitement=20 grows in me when thinking back)? You should have the place to install a=20 very long one! You just need some wire, maybe 1...2mm diameter and some=20 100m long. A dipole would be interesting. Maybe you can use it for other=20 bands as well! If i would live close to a forest, a lonely forest (here=20 they seem to clean it and cut some trees here and there to sell them=20 periodically!), i would have such an antenna and i would add 100m pieces=20 to the ends from time to time :-) With 700m wire and 250 W RF power i made 45km in DFCW-600. So if the=20 dipole ends are close to your home QTH (actually you can use a simple=20 long wire, not a dipole, then you will need just one /p ground made of=20 earth rods), then you can run 1 or 2 kW (or 3 :-) ) and your home earth=20 system is the first end of the radiator. 2 kW against 250W is +12 dB.=20 Since you are not limited in time (like me, when beeing /p with that=20 small generator), people can try in "DFCW-60000" or 47 uHz! Another 20=20 dB! :-) And if you use a 7000m wire, is it then 10x the loop area? Would that be=20 another 20 dB? :-) Maybe you can gain VE7BDQ or VE7TIL (you remember?) and some other=20 stations in a range below 1000 km for first tests! :-) BTW without the need for a loading coil of several 100 mH there is no=20 sound that nerves the XYL so it's very friendly to all :-) Give it a try! +100m each week! And keep us informed about the progress! 73, Stefan/DK7FC Am 13.11.2013 06:14, schrieb Laurence KL7 L: > > =20 >> >> >> >> >> Subject: VLF DK7FC ? >> >> Stefan =E2=80=93 is there any (any?) chance we can persuade you to go= to your favorite field location and shove up the Kite again over the wint= er period for another run at VLF over the Pole =E2=80=93 Ive improved my= s/n here down in the lower reaches and you never know? >> >> Thanks >> Long haul up here at the moment is just awful =E2=80=93 pretty auroras= and snow=E2=80=A6. >> Laurence (and others!) kl7l >> >> =20
