The Italian stations from JN80 were decoded at much lower levels. Later I found that the Steinberg NTP client somehow had not corrected the PC's clock (system time). The service had to be stopped and restarted (problem is that this NTP 'daemon' doesn't have a user interface on which the success/failure of time syncs is displayed. Suggestions anyone ? Indeed I kept the number of transmissions low to avoid QRMing my neighbours and the 'DX' which was around at that time, but the tremendous QRN made it impossible to copy any non-EU signals.
