Content preview: Today I ran up my tiny PA which produces 20uW EIRP then inserted 10dB of attenuation at 50 Ohms. I suspected that G0VQH would still decode my WSPR with some headroom. I also suspected that this would be a one guy one girl relationship. I have no idea what antenna G0VQH is running but reports are almost always better than those of even closer stations. Results were as expected. 2uW EIRP :- 2013-02-04 16:04 G3ZJO 0.475690 -25 0 IO92ng +0 0.001 G0VQH JO02fe 91 57 2013-02-04 15:44 G3ZJO 0.475690 -25 0 IO92ng +0 0.001 G0VQH JO02fe 91 57 2013-02-04 15:34 G3ZJO 0.475690 -26 0 IO92ng +0 0.001 G0VQH JO02fe 91 57 2013-02-04 14:34 G3ZJO 0.475691 -27 0 IO92ng +0 0.001 G0VQH JO02fe 91 57 2013-02-04 13:04 G3ZJO 0.475693 -27 0 IO92ng +0 0.001 G0VQH JO02fe 91 57 2013-02-04 12:44 G3ZJO 0.475694 -29 0 IO92ng +0 0.001 G0VQH JO02fe 91 57 2013-02-04 12:34 G3ZJO 0.475696 -26 0 IO92ng +0 0.001 G0VQH JO02fe 91 57 [...] Content analysis details: (0.0 points, 5.0 required) pts rule name description ---- ---------------------- -------------------------------------------------- X-Scan-Signature: 5f132ffce194fb93f2267a462d849f2b Subject: LF: To the exclusion of all others Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.63 (2004-01-11) on post.thorcom.com X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, hits=0.0 required=5.0 tests=none autolearn=no version=2.63 X-SA-Exim-Scanned: Yes Sender: owner-rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org Precedence: bulk Reply-To: rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org X-Listname: rsgb_lf_group X-SA-Exim-Rcpt-To: rs_out_1@blacksheep.org X-SA-Exim-Scanned: No; SAEximRunCond expanded to false x-aol-global-disposition: G x-aol-sid: 3039ac1d6057510ff9114514 X-AOL-IP: 195.171.43.25 X-AOL-SPF: domain : blacksheep.org SPF : none Today I ran up my tiny PA which produces 20uW EIRP then inserted 10dB of attenuation at 50 Ohms. I am sure that due to my Marconi inv. L being surrounded by my steel masts, other antennas, houses and trees and also passes over an earthed aluminium greenhouse, I have lots of absorption and I my 40m Doublet acts as a parasitic element. I may have to switch out the attenuator for you to see me. I shall continue at this level this evening to see if any other stations manage a decode. 73 Eddie
