Content preview: Hi Wolf and Graham It was so nice to hear the band literally full of CW. And thanks for the info Wolf publishing your working conditions is very helpful. In my case I am interested in the RX side as well. I am currently using on RX a 2m 7/8th whip at 50ft+- connected straight into my TS690s transceiver, have 500 / 250 filters fitted. Although signals are not strong they are all good copy and both sides of each qso was readable. The noise level was very low. If I use an open wire ant those signals I can hear are very strong but the far stations are lost in noise. So the noise I am getting is from the house (mine and next door) low down. The whip seems mostly out of range of the worst noise. That may be of use to you Graham. However I know you are not the only one to suffer from the Xmas decorations at the moment. Also 472/9 seems a quieter part of MF than 501/4. The general noise floor on the SDR is lower but I don't know why. 73 es GL Pete M0FMT IO91UX [...] Content analysis details: (0.0 points, 5.0 required) pts rule name description ---- ---------------------- -------------------------------------------------- -0.0 RCVD_IN_DNSWL_NONE RBL: Sender listed at http://www.dnswl.org/, no trust [212.82.108.139 listed in list.dnswl.org] 0.0 FREEMAIL_FROM Sender email is commonly abused enduser mail provider (m0fmt[at]yahoo.co.uk) 0.0 HTML_OBFUSCATE_05_10 BODY: Message is 5% to 10% HTML obfuscation 0.0 HTML_MESSAGE BODY: HTML included in message 0.0 T_DKIM_INVALID DKIM-Signature header exists but is not valid X-Scan-Signature: 7c7a1907d3a7d57b28660e5fb4c32107 Subject: Re: LF: A good night on 472 Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="131296447-492705407-1357380239=:66281" X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.63 (2004-01-11) on post.thorcom.com X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, hits=0.5 required=5.0 tests=HTML_40_50,HTML_MESSAGE, TO_ADDRESS_EQ_REAL autolearn=no version=2.63 X-SA-Exim-Scanned: Yes Sender: owner-rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org Precedence: bulk Reply-To: rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org X-Listname: rsgb_lf_group X-SA-Exim-Rcpt-To: rs_out_1@blacksheep.org X-SA-Exim-Scanned: No; SAEximRunCond expanded to false x-aol-global-disposition: G X-AOL-SCOLL-AUTHENTICATION: mtain-ma03.r1000.mx.aol.com ; domain : yahoo.co.uk DKIM : fail x-aol-sid: 3039ac1d600b50e7fafa0969 X-AOL-IP: 195.171.43.25 X-AOL-SPF: domain : blacksheep.org SPF : none --131296447-492705407-1357380239=:66281 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi Wolf and Graham=0A=A0=0AIt was so nice to hear the band literally full o= f CW. Hi Pete,
=0A
=0A Thanks t= o all involved, and indeed it was a nice evening with=0A almost no QRM this side (except from the = 'primary users').
=0A 9H was again audible with his remarkable slow= cw (but not QRSS)=0A a= round 478.446 kHz.
=0A Nice to hear / work GI, EI, GW, G, HB9, PA, SM, OK, a= nd DL; all=0A active to= night.
=0A 60 watts output from the TX seems to be sufficient here = (about 1.5=0A A antenna current, wire between 7 and 11 m above ground,= total=0A length 60 m).
