But I need to take more notice of their Thursday evening test signals they shove out. Looking at the results of a few years of reception it appears that 137 has been "better" but Its very difficult to match as its "apples to pears" in reality with different s/n and antennae patterns etc. Even though I was a radio op (I wouldnt call myself an officer!) at sea/coast station and used 500 a lot I still feel like a novice :-) this land stuff gets in the way pretty quickly, and we are pretty sure intervening mountain ranges mid path such as those near me and North China/India /Tibet do rough up the wave fronts at times....I know they do at VLF...
