Valves are a Radio Amateur's best friend, lovely = warm glow=20 from a pair of 813's,  4-400's, 4-1000's even the 1625. With 100 = watt=20 heaters and K/volts on the anode only a skilled Radio Operator could = handle them=20 safely.
Transistors for the Appliance Operator, =  with no=20 dangerous voltages to cause premature expiry!!
