Hello Mal

You don't quote the all important, the bandwidth that you were = taking=20 these measurements in.

I've just done a quick look on my receiver.

20kHz DDC bandwidth and 10Hz selectivity

Noise floor with no antenna < -150dBm
Noise floor with Beverage antenna connected < = -140dBm

Experiment this morning on 475 Khz = band.

Flex 3000 SDR rx on 475 Khz.

Noise floor - no antenna -----with 10dB = attenuation=20 inserted-------------120dB

Antenna 1/4 wave inv L connected  95dB = therefore=20 a gain of 25 dB

Time 0900 utc  ----daytime   = Band quiet=20 no static -- typical radio environment at this QTH

I must do this check after dark
