It has been stated on here that although it has been agreed to allocate a MF slot to radio amateurs, national governments might take a different view and not implement it. Can anyone understand this mentality. I could say more !!!!!!!!!!!!! I suppose for UK radio amateurs it could be worse at least we are in the GREEN, being somewhat an isolated Island has advantages. g3kev ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rik Strobbe" To: Sent: Wednesday, February 15, 2012 9:10 AM Subject: RE: LF: Re: WRC-12 Approves the New 472-479 kHz Amateur Radio Allocation All, the 800km protection zone (= 1W EIRP limit) will affect a large part of Europe. Keep in mind that the protection zone is not only to the east but also to the south (all northern Africa countries requested protection). Attached a small map that shows the situation. 73, Rik ON7YD - OR7T ________________________________________ Van: owner-rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org [owner-rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org] namens James Moritz [james.moritz@btopenworld.com] Verzonden: dinsdag 14 februari 2012 23:05 Aan: rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org Onderwerp: Re: LF: Re: WRC-12 Approves the New 472-479 kHz Amateur Radio Allocation Dear Pete, LF Group, >"Power will be limited to 1W EIRP, but allowing 5W EIRP for (parts of) >countries that are at least 800km (should read >LIGHT YEARS Which most >western countries are) from the border from a list of about 30 countries." Perhaps not as far as we would like - for example, is Kaliningrad still part of the Russian Federation ? Cheers, Jim Moritz 73 de M0BMU
