>=3B Hi= Gary=2C
>=3B
>=3B Thanks for the response.
>=3B Well I hea= rd Opera signals here tonight on 501.80=2C 502.00 and 502.20. You
>= =3B may check the Delft websdr (I am using this websdr at the moment as my = RX
>=3B ant is not back up yet). These users probably have the wrong = TX dialed in?
>=3B I still think it would be a good thing to allocate = a specific part of 500
>=3B for (all kinds of) beacons. That way inte= rference will be minimized an
>=3B optimal freedom for experimenters = (all modes HI) can be assured.
>=3B
>=3B Kind regards=2C

>=3B
>=3B Hi Minto=2C
>=3B
>=3B Sorry that you se= em to be experiencing a problem from the Opera beacons.
>=3B
>= =3B There should be no QRM from Opera as the Tx sub-band is 501.300 to
= >=3B 501.700kHz &=3B would not interfere with your CW QSO's on 502.000= &=3B 502.500kHz.
>=3B
>=3B Also the Opera software will not = Tx on an occupied freqency due to it's
>=3B agile frequency feature= =2C it will automatically QSY to a clear frequency
>=3B within it's s= ub-band before Txing.
>=3B
>=3B I am monitoring the frequency &a= mp=3B I have not seen any Opera signal outside the
>=3B limits which = I have mentioned above in this email.

>=3B >=3B
>=3B >= =3B I am not convinced that this Opera beaconing (experiment??) is a good <= br>>=3B >=3B thing=2C
>=3B >=3B that is to say not as it is curr= ently conducted on 500.
>=3B >=3B For some reason the frequencies th= at are used are smack in the middle of
>=3B >=3B the
>=3B >= =3B =91normal=92 CW part of 500. Why not go to the (upper) band edge like W= SPR?
>=3B >=3B Already I have experienced some annoying interference= =2C after calling CQ on
>=3B >=3B 502 and/or 502.5 I heard more than= one Opera sig on 502.0 and 502.2 =96
>=3B >=3B right
>=3B >= =3B through my CQ. Probably no operator listening or Opera not checking the=
>=3B >=3B QRG?
>=3B >=3B Just now I heard PA3CW calling CQ = on 502.00. Halfway through his CQ an
>=3B >=3B Opera
>=3B >= =3B beacon started ON EXACT THE SAME FREQUENCY. Dick PA3CW did respond (wit= h
>=3B >=3B ...--..) to the CW-like Opera beacon but to no avail..>=3B >=3B
>=3B >=3B So please let=92s agree on the band edges = for these types of beacons. They
>=3B >=3B have their use and are fu= n to work/play with=2C but as I understand it they
>=3B >=3B do
= >=3B >=3B not need much bandwidth so moving to a confined area the band= edge(s)
>=3B >=3B should
>=3B >=3B not be a problem.
>= =3B >=3B And select one. I see (hear) an Italian beacon day and night som= ewhere
>=3B >=3B above
>=3B >=3B 501. Another 500 Hz of the = 3 KHz allocated lost for CW.
