Scott, i'm actually thinking about trying to receive Kuni from a=20 portable location, using the loop. He will attempt to TX today between=20 19 and 21 UTC. He can even receive during the same time when he transmits. I do not=20 expect to receive him due to my local QRM but it could be possible from=20 a portable location. Then i can TX and RX to the same time as well. As=20 long as i am here, it is better i am on air and watch other grabbers,=20 e.g. the OE3GHB grabber which is proofed to be excellent in sensitivity=20 for DX coming from east. Once Kuni appers in OE i would stop the TX and=20 try to get him. Kuni attempts to TX in DFCW-90 today. Since my YL is here in the evening i cannot do the /p experiment in the=20 evening but friday evening may be possible! Then i hope my TX does not=20 overload the RX. The high Q of the loop certainly helps to reduce the=20 signal by 6 dB or so... I have to search for a /p location where i can=20 null out my own signal and have optimal bearing to JA, which is about 36=20 deg... 73, Stefan/DK7FC Am 05.01.2012 06:24, schrieb Scott Tilley: > Stefan / Kuni > > Congrats! > > The deep and LONG QSB is the killer as we discovered during our tests=20 > in 2010. > > I watch with bated breath as you two hopefully will attempt a QSO! > > LF DXing of this type requires an alarm clock, a bunk and a VERY=20 > patient XYL... > > 73 es GL > Scott > > > > > > > On 1/4/2012 3:14 PM, Stefan Sch=E4fer wrote: >> LF! >> >> It seems JA7NI received me in the first attempt!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats!

The deep and LONG QSB is the killer as we discovered during our tests in 2010.=A0

I watch with bated breath as you two hopefully will attempt a QSO!=A0
LF DXing of this type requires an alarm clock, a bunk and a VERY patient XYL...

See his grabber at ht= tp://ja7ni.pv.land.to/argo or the capture at http://dl.dropbox.= com/u/19882028/LF/argo.jpg Other grabbers and my own confirms that i was actually transmitting the "DK" to that time :-))
That is a clear copy but with QSB and a small gap. The path is 9070km<= /b>, almost completely over land, http://no.nonsense.ee/qthmap/?qth=3DQM09FL&from=3Djn49ik00wd He must have an excellent RX location and setup.
According to the DCF39 plot of JA8SCD, propagations seemed to be normal.<= br>
My Congratulations to Kuni, JA7NI. I'm very pleased about a new LF ODX that will be hard to beat for me.

Going to bed with a smile here.

73 es gd DX to all.

LF,

I've been in contact with JA7NI (email ;-) ), who moved his RX and grabber to arround 136.172 now. Hoping to leave some traces there in the next time. The path is almost completely over land, so not really easy: http://dl.d= ropbox.com/u/19882028/LF/DK7FC-JA7NI.png
The challenges never end. I'll stay in DFCW-180 and switch to 90 later for the west.
