Yes indeed, there were some problems again, this is VERY (!!) annoying!! Why must there always be a problem on the RX side???? ... The location was very nice and the WX too. A good and quiet place. I heared my signals at > 100 dB S/N. But Markus/DF6NM was just 30 dB S/N in 488 mHz (QRSS-3). He was audible but should have been stronger. My apologies for again having not really a useful RX for farer signals. Seems i have to work on the /p RX again. There was a self oscillation in the preamp stage on the ferrite antenna that may have caused a low signal level. I will check that today and will work on a better design. There are 6 turn for driving the preamp JFET which was working well but i thought a bit more would be better, to stay 15 dB above the soundcard noise even in quiet days..... Anyway thanks to all who tried and to DF6NM who gave me some kind of feedback. It's all a bit more difficult with a /p equipment that has to find its place in a backpack... I will try to listen now on 136.5 from the grabber antenna which is sourrounded by higer local QRM levels. Anyway it may perform better than i expect. Also i like transmitting... At least the remote link worked well and location was very nice, see a photo with the river Neckar in the background (old mobile phone photo): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19882028/LF/LF-P_11122011.jpg If possible i will give it a try on the next weekend and will work out a design for a remote RX in the forest to stay QRV from home permanently... 73, Stefan/DK7FC Am 11.12.2011 15:22, schrieb Mike Dennison: > Good CW signal (559) from DK7FC/P but he cannot hear my calls. > I am visible on DF6NM's grabber and have had several CW QSOs > with DL in the past, so I think Stefan has some receive problems > at his portable site. > > Mike, G3XDV > ========== > > >> I'm going to do a CW activity now with my portable equipment and will >> be QRV on *136.5 kHz in CW *from a portable location in the forest, >> some 2 km distant to the man made noise.
