I think the concept of a small Ae on 500 was lost in the early day's , but in reality, propagation on 500 is some what better than 160 and using the same size Ae's , quite reasonable signals can be produced. After all 600 was the first HAM band , before the Marine boys took it over .. and are still reluctant to give it back !!
