No doubt someone on here will remember why it doesn't work but I can't locate my notes just now. I remember trying various ways to splice the rods but with foul results. I think I got better results using the rods as individual elements of arrays but the efforts never equated to real results or predictions. Someone more knowledgeable did suggest that my efforts would or could be better spent. Discretion is often the better part etc.............! Comment someone Please? 73 On Fri, 2011-08-19 at 18:53 +0100, mal hamilton wrote: > Peter > According to my research output is increased by strapping a number of r= ods > together in parallel, then winding with suitable wire for the required > inductance. > High sensitivity is Achieved by Bunching a number of rods together to > increase Loop Area > There are also advantages linking some rods end to end. > de mal/g3kev >=20 >=20 > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "pws" > To: > Sent: Friday, August 19, 2011 6:25 PM > Subject: Re: LF: fERRITE JOY STICK >=20 >=20 > > Hi Mal, > > > > You wrote: > > > ... > > > I happen to have a bunch of 9 ferrite rods 100mm long and wound > > > ... > > > > Bundling is not worth the effort. > > In case of ferrite loop sticks length is what matters. > > > > > ... > > >This is just a fun experiment for me because I do not need any > > > more antennas at this qth > > > ... > > > > Mephistopheles: > > "My good sir, you observe this matter > > As men these matters always see; > > But we must manage that much better > > Before life's pleasures from us flee." > > > > [=C2=B0_^] > > > > Greetings from the Continent, > > Peter, df3lp > > >=20 >=20 --=20 73 es gd dx de pat g4gvw qth nr felixstowe uk (east coast, county of suffolk)
