Several of us out this way have them with XP which is preferable to the later more expensive ones with Windows 7 I think....W7 seems to have give a fair amount of trouble to programs that run Ok under XP. I have not tried to run Spec lab but I have run other waterfalls Argo and Spectran (this was one reason why I got it) It also runs the software for the FUNcube Dongle VHF/UHF SDR very satisfactorily. So I guess you will find it works OK. I have run SL with a 200MHz PC ....just..... logging LF utility station HGA22. I am not sure what version and the problem is that Wolf keeps sewing bits on :-)) but 1GB and 1.6GHz should be fine. Mine 'only' has a 160GB HD ! The "window" may be a bit smaller than you are used to but it is quite usable ....the worst thing woth all the portable is the "scratchcard" pointing device....it worth getting a small mouse to use with it. Can anyone give me some advice on the suitability (or not) of small 1GHz RAM Atom based netbooks (available for about £189 new) for these modes/applications? I'd like something more power efficient that could be used out /P as well as at home. 73s Roger G3XBM Via my iPod Touch 4g 2.4GHz handheld.
