The 15.3m fibre glass pole looks useful. I > presume this was one bought from an internet supplier and that it > collapses > down for transportation. I can just make out some guy wires in the photo. The mast is a giant "roach pole" that telescopes down into about 1.8m length. It actually has 2 additional sections that go to about 18.5m total length, but they are too flexible to support any useful horizontal load, so I left them off. It came with a set of jubilee clips to clamp the sections in place once extended - these are definitely essential. After some experiments, I found the best way to put up the antenna single-handed was to lash the collapsed antenna to a fence post, attach the top wires to the top section, and extend the pole in the vertical position - a step-ladder was useful! The top load wires guy the top of the mast, I added a second set of guys about half way up to stop the mast bowing under the vertical load, and due to the wind. Cheers, Jim Moritz 73 de M0BMU
