Below, you'll find a copy of the E-mail conversation between Paul and me regarding my TX experiments today. Hello Paul! Nice to hear back from you and thank you very much for observing and the detailed analysis you provided. I switched to DHO38 synchronisation at about 15:00z and it worked for a while. Then I left for about a hour and when i got back, I saw that the level of DHO38 dropped so deep that synchronisation of SpecLab wasn't possible any more. This is a possible explanation for the "insufficient signal" between 15 and 16z. I'm using an indoor ferrite antenna to derive the DHO-signal and additionally it's not far away from the loading coil. So basically, this method would work but it's necessary to bring the receiving antenna outside and as far as possible away from the coil. Together with your reported sun-activity between 15:23 to 15:56, the loss of synchronisation makes sense to me. Meanwhile I switched back to GPS. I will let you know when I switch off. 73 es tnx OE3GHB Gerhard Am Samstag, den 12.03.2011, 17:22 +0000 schrieb Paul: > Gerhard, > > Here are some hourly measurements > (UT, amplitudes +-50%, absolute phase mod 360 (+/- 5 deg)) > > 09:00-10:00 0.13fT 28 deg > 10:00-11:00 0.07fT -31 deg > 11:00-12:00 0.12fT -156 deg > 12:00-13:00 0.10fT -180 deg > 13:00-14:00 0.21fT 170 deg > 14:00-15:00 0.17fT 162 deg > 15:00-16:00 insufficient signal > 16:00-17:00 0.13fT Frequency now 8969.980278 > > Average frequency 09:00 - 15:00 = 8969.98Hz + 29.1uHz +/- 0.8 uHz > > Strong solar flares affect VLF propagation from > 12:56 to 13:22, > 15:23 to 15:56; > > Absolute phase defined by > > signal = cos( 2*pi*F*T + phase) > > where T = seconds since 1970-01-01_00:00:00.00000000; > F = 8969.98000000; > > Will continue to monitor signal.
