It is a fantastic antenna and works far better than I expected it to. Unfortunately I blew it up yesterday by poking 24v up the cable by mistake, easy enough to repair but maybe I ought to incorporate a zenner in the PSU. Thanks Roelof for your design 73, Tony, EI8JK On 14/01/2011 10:45, Roelof Bakker wrote: > Hello Petr, > > That is a nice photo on a nice location. > I am looking forward to hear of your findings. > > I have been using one for six years now in a suburban environment. > Though just 6 meter from the house and five meter up, I have had > amazing catches at LF. > I have had aural copy from NDB IPA on Easter Island in the Pacific > that transmitted on 280 kHz. > This station has only been logged by three listeners in Europe. > One used a beverage, the other a K9AY and yours truly a mini-whip. > > And also solid decodes on NAVTEX at 518 kHz from Japan, China and Taiwan. > > So, yes, the antenna seems to work! > > 73, > Roelof, pa0rdt > > >
