You are correct about the Internet being vunerable but you forgot to mention
Broadcast JAMMING which is a regular occurance when your information is not
wanted. This renders the transmitted information useless.

          I'll keep it brief since we are getting further off-topic.
I have two thoughts on the end of the BBC World Service on Shortwave:

1) The reliance on the Internet for program distribution is worrisome.
One only need look at Egypt where the Internet is shut down, or China
where it is censored.

2) The BBC World Service gives the U.K. considerable stature in the
World, in other words the U.K. is a small country with a big voice and
international role. Elimination of the World Service will make the
U.K. just another small, non-descript country in the EU.
