A pure, old fashoined, majordomo driven email reflector is perfectly adequate for the majority of traffic on this list. There is no guarantee that Yahoo group messages would be any more or less affected by delays than this majordomo list, but to move to a web-based list would add more unnecessary chaff to each message and require an owner/moderator and deputies. If you want near-real time messaging for use during the type of event that happened today then an Instant Messaging platform is necessary. Even good old IRC would suffice. There have been suggestions of radio-sked web-based services mentioned here already that would be more appropriate for the passing of real-time information. Email (and this most certainly includes Yahoo-groups) is not the medium for this. Yahoo groups are well used for all manner of special interest groups, but I don't see the advantage (and can see many disadvantages) of moving the LF reflector there. Delays in messages is not going to be solved by going down that route. Just my 2pennorth John GM4SLV
