Hi Pete,

an older versi= on of WSPR was able to generate the data. I don't know if it is
sti= ll available but there is an alternative. You can use the following progra= m
from K1JT to generate the WSPR symbols:

http://physics.pr= inceton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/WSPRcode.exe

Download the program, open= a command prompt window, go to the directory
containing wsprcode.exe and type:

wsprcode "SM6LKM JO67 20&quo= t; > symbols.txt

Press enter.

The output from wsprcode.ex= e will be saved in symbols.txt. Open this file and
look at the last tab= le labeled "Channel symbols". This is the data you need -
the 162 WSPR symbols. This table should be identical to my example in the= file
mjb002ug.pdf (I haven't checked). If it looks OK, just replac= e callsign, locator
and power with your own numbers.

Write a new= text file similar to my "Example download file" on page 6 in mjb002ug.pdf and replace my message (the table under command character T)= with
your own 162 digit message from symbols.txt.

The ugly &quo= t;HyperTerminal" in window$ can be used to download the file into the=
PIC. Set it to 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no handshaki= ng and
use "Send text file" to download the data. Please note= that you must start the
download within 5 seconds after PIC reset / po= wer-on (while the green LED is
still lit).

If you don't have a 5V <-> RS232 converter to= put between the PC and the PIC,
you can try a one-way download by conn= ecting the PC's TX line to the GPS input
on the PIC board (the tran= sistor will do the necessary logic inversion).
However, you will get no confirmation of download success..
