Next stop 2000km!! For 500 I use a "standard" set up of inverted L (10/40 with Heff of about 8m) and coil. Unfortuantely I am compelled to use an "RF sucking" silver birch tree as a support. Tx is an IC706mk2G giving out about 25W on 500. RX is same rig. Chris XIZ has a large and very impressive home brew beast of a Tx and a much better aerial set up with a proper 10m wooden tilt over pole and a roach pole support on his roof for the horizonatal run. That will be why he's 25dB+ up on me over the same distance, he's always "out-shouting me" ! :-) Thanks again for the report though. I'll leave it running tonight too With best regards Jim Dr. James Cowburn -----Original Message----- From: owner-rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org [mailto:owner-rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org] On Behalf Of Paul-Henrik Sent: 12 September 2010 09:38 To: rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org Subject: LF: G7NKS's "ground heater" received in OH LF G7NKS WSPR signal was decoded regularly here from after UTC midnight until 0330UTC when there was a short power failure and my monitoring setup went down. This was unfortunate since signals seemed to be picking up. As I remember it G7NKS uses a "ground antenna", please correct me if I'm wrong here.
