My program says the distance to DL4YHF is about 265km, so certainly out of the near field. Unfortunately, nothing was seen here that could be identified as a signal - the trouble is, with the spectrogram set for DFCW600, everything looks like a 600 second dash, like Peter was saying about modern art... The noise level this afternoon had risen several dB above the lowest levels at around 0800 - 1000utc, and being the middle of summer it is very noisy - so I am hopeful about detecting a signal in future tests. The QRN noise level at my QTH is about 2dB lower at 6.5kHz compared to 9kHz, but I would guess the increase in ERP at the higher frequency would be greater than that, so I would suggest 8.97kHz is a better frequency. Thanks for the test, looking forward to next time! Cheers, Jim Moritz 73 de M0BMU
