I heard you calling CQ on CW, and presumably you also on QRSS something or other a bit later. The antenna of course was WAY off resonance so you were pretty weak - DCF39 was only s8. This morning I tried resonating the vertical on 136 using the old 'bucket' inductors I used when I was last on the band, which are still in the dustbin by the vertical. The resulting 9.8mH should according to my calculations have brought it to resonance on around 136, but my AA200 shows no resonance only a very slight dip at 400kHz and it now seems even worse with DCF39 only s7... I shall be racking my brains over the next few days over why the theory doesn't seem to work! This will be receive only, I have no plans to get transmitting again as my old transverter is very much in bits nowadays. 73 Dave G3YMC http://www.davesergeant.com ------=_NextPart_000_001A_01CB13D2.3FBB4AD0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

I took a listen down on 136kHz last night Chr= is, using=20 my 500kHz
resonant vertical and my Datong UC/1. I heard you cal= ling CQ on=20 CW, and
presumably you also on QRSS something or other a bit la= ter. The=20 antenna

only s8.

my calculations have brought it to resonanc= e on=20 around 136, but my
AA200 shows no resonance only a very slight= dip at=20 400kHz and it now
seems even worse with DCF39 only s7...
I shall=20 be racking my brains over the next few days over why the theorydoesn't=20 seem to work! This will be receive only, I have no plans to=20 get
transmitting again as my old transverter is very much in bi= ts=20 nowadays.
