Our estate, built around 1960, has metal water and gas pipes although a re-piping exercise is underway in Bracknell which will presumably change it to plastic. The new 1.2m diameter water pipe being laid in our local woods is quite definitely steel - huge blue painted sections. And of course electricity cables will always be of conductive material... 73 Dave G3YMC http://www.davesergeant.com
