Take 1500w with 13 dB gain on the higher hf bands = 30,000 Watts (USA for example) a nice enhancement. or 400w with 13 dB gain = 8,000 Watts ( UK) How can one be less advantaged when there is CHOICE and it is legal and not expensive. A radio amateur can build himself/herself a suitable yagi antenna and a suitable amplifier. At one stage I built a 16 ft parabolic dish with suitable feed also a 6 ele 30 ft 6 metre yagi, both items built from readily available materials and scrap. I do not see your logic !!!!!
