Hi Group
As an indication of what can be heard using a Sound Card RX, SA= Q when on, is very strong with me using just an Inv Vee 80m dipole= strapped feeder. Russian Alpha stations 10 to 15 kc/s tend to vary= in strength but at the moment 16;12 UTC 25/2/2010 they are peaking= about12dB above the mean noise floor. Clear audio using Winrad filter set= to100c/s and well defined trace on the water fall display.

I don't think there is any issues receiving in the 7 / 9 kc/s region.= But we are talking weak signal FFT software for reception and relatively= short range for Amateurs judging by previous work done in this part of th= e spectrum.

Interesting to note there are no official allocations below 9kc/s in= the UK according to Ofcomic's publication :--

Below 9 kHz

(not allocated)

The band below 9 kHz= is not allocated for use in the UK

These audio loops for hard of hearing do not appear to require= a TAX take either!
