The International Radio Regulations ("The Bible of Radio Communications") define ERP as follows: (1.162) -- effective radiated power (e.r.p.) in a given direction: The product of the power supplied to the antenna and its gain relative to a half-wave dipole in a given direction. When applying for my permission I suggested the use of the term EMRP which has the reference to a short vertical monopole antenna. Unfortunately the PTT-people did not know that term, so my limit became 20 Watts ERP! It seems to me that there might be a difference of 2.6 dB between these two definitions. But really not worth bothering. Let us continue estimating and guessing! 73 Niels/OZ8NJ+ =20 ------=_NextPart_000_0067_01CA4865.81976580 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
Hello LF Group!
The International Radio Regulations= ("The Bible=20 of
Radio Communications") define ER= P as=20 follows:
(1.162) -- effective radiated po= wer (e.r.p.)=20 in a given direction:
The product of the power supplied to= the antenna=20 and its gain
relative to a half-wave dipole in a= given=20 direction.
When applying for my permission I sug= gested the use=20 of the
term EMRP which has the referenc= e to a short=20 vertical
monopole antenna. Unfortunately the= PTT-people did=20 not
know that term, so my limit beca= me 20 Watts=20 ERP!
It seems to me that there might be a= difference of=20 2.6 dB
between these two definitions. But re= ally not=20 worth
bothering. Let us continue estimating= and=20 guessing!
