Not ideal but a little better than the old "L". According to the VNA the Xs is down to 4 and the SWR at the base before transformer went from 2.5 to 1.8. G7NKS is back on tonight with a new umb= rella antenna under test.  

 

10m vertical element with 4x8m capacity= wires sloping down at 45degrees.  Not ideal but a little better than the old “= L”.   

 

According to the VNA the Xs is down to= 4 and the SWR at the base before transformer went from 2.5 to 1.8.=

 

Back at the shack the SWR was 2 and aft= er the transformer it was 1.5 with Xs still at 15

 

Power output hasn’t changed much= though so we’ll see if its any more efficient
