At the Twente university the WEBSDR covers 8 frequency bands each 600kHz wide (ham bands from 1.8MHz up to 21MHz plus DC-600kHz) with a single ADC fed by a single antenna. For me that is a real masterpiece, even though the system is not optimized for 500kHz. As far as I have tested it works pretty good on HF and for LF/MF broadcast. Just don't expect the same sensitivity from such a WEBSDR as from some grabbers dedicated to 500kHz. 73, Rik ON7YD At 12:39 19/06/2009, you wrote: >WEBSDR is no good from what you have observed. >de G3KEV > >----- Original Message ----- >From: "Rik Strobbe" >To: >Sent: Friday, June 19, 2009 9:45 AM >Subject: Re: LF: RE: webSDR > > > > Hello Richard, all, > > > > I did some 500kHz tests last night with the Twente websdr: > > - I cannot hear or see my own signal on the websdr (abt. 1W ERP, > > distance 200km) > > - While I heard G3KEV 599+ here I could not hear or see on Mal on the > > websdr (distance G3KEV-me = 510km, distance G3KEV-Twente = 540km) > > I guess a W3DZZ dipole is not the perfect antenna for 600m. > > > > The above is not meant to criticize the WEBSDR project of the Twente > > university (all respect for this masterpiece), just to inform that > > one shouldn't panic it your 500kHz signal doesn't show up. > > > > 73, Rik ON7YD - OR7T > > > > At 22:29 18/06/2009, you wrote: > >>Amazing! > >> > >>I heard a couple of NDBs, "LAA" and "LI".
