Surely you should be looking at more than 100km for daylight range, Richard. See if you can hear my beacon on 503.7kHz, transmitting every 15 minutes at 04/19/34 and 49 minutes past the hour, using the same format as the RAL/ORK/WES 5MHz beacons, but PSK31 for the 30 - 48 second period. That has an ERP in the region of 23dBm and is rather less potent than most stations on the band. And BTW, I don't do QSOs - as you may have gathered from postings re 10GHz :-( Andy G4JNT www.g4jnt.com 2009/5/9 Richard Newstead > Richard Newstead wrote: > >> >> Who is actually active on 500kHz within about 100km of me in Macclesfield? >> Is this reflector the best way to solicit contacts? >> >> Oh dear. Oh dear. No replies. Is 500kHz as quiet as 10GHz (where I a= lso play)? Surely there will be someone within daylight range of me?
