So, for a 1 second error the total power summed over the window is 4/5, or about 1dB down. For 2.5s slippage, -3dB BUT.. ... this may be only an approximation as windowing is applied so the contribution from the power measured at the middle of the timing window is given a greater weigthing than the measurement at either end.
