There is no need to generate the full beacon sequence, just a precisely time 5 second transmission every 15 minutes. All the monitoring software does is look at the carrier S/N during the precise interval of 25 to 30 seconds. So, if someone could come up with a Tx that transmits precisely for 5 second intervals at xx:05:25 , xx:20:25, xx:35:20 and xx:50:35:25 where xx: is the hour it will show up as the gree trace on Gary's plot. Similarly, at xx:06:25 etc it will appear as the blue trace. Try it manually to see :-) Timing is extremally important though. Accurcy needs to be within 0.5 seconds for the monitoring S/W to make an accurate level recording, which makes GPS or network based controlled timing almost mandatory. I've switched off at the moment as mentioned earlier, but should be able to activate again by about 18:30. You wrote :-

=A0

I mentioned in=20= my previous mail to ignore the text on the page as it was originally for gra= bber 1 for when I upgrade the web site (to a new design & better navigat= ion etc), also mentioned is that upload is every 30 minutes.

=A0

If the uploaded= chart proves useful or interesting to operators & viewers then I will c= hange the text & make it a permanent feature for the foreseeable future.=

=A0

BTW :-

=A0

For those of yo= u=A0 who are not familiar with the chart =96

=A0

The RED trace i= s Andy=92s (G4JNT) beacon signal & the BLACK trace is the noise level at= my QTH.

=A0

The Blue &=20= GREEN are not in use & should be ignored on this chart as they are for t= he other beacons used when monitoring on the 5MHz allocation.<= /b>

=A0

LF,

=A0

I have now got=20= the software, Syncback running correctly (I think).

=A0

The purpose of=20= this is to upload the chart from Andy=92s beacon as received here to my web=20= site periodically, ie. every 30 minutes.

=A0

I now have a re= ceiver running 24/7 monitoring Andy,s beacon on 503.7KHz.<= /p>

=A0

You can view th= e chart on my web site at :-

=A0

http://mywe= b.tiscali.co.uk/wgtaylor/grabber3.html

=A0

For the moment=20= ignore the text on the page as it is originally designed to use with the 500= KHz grabber when I renew my web site design. If it is a useful upload I will= make it a permanent feature but may have to extend the frequency coverage o= f grabber 1 so not to overload the PC with operations which will cause the P= C to struggle.

=A0

Let me have you= r comments please.

=A0

Hi LF,

=A0

If anyone is using Syncback software &=20= can help, please.

=A0

I am tying to upload a file to my website w= ho=92s filename does not change, only the file size changes. I tried to do i= t with Argo-upload but failed so I downloaded Syncback & still failing.<= /span>

=A0

Syncback gives me the following message :-<= /span>

=A0

**********************************

Can connect, but unable to change to destin= ation directory:

/chart01.bmp:not a directory<= /b>

**********************************

The Syncback help does not give me the answ= er.

=A0

Any help will be appreciated<= /b>

=A0

Or

=A0

Will Argo-Upload do it?

=A0

Or

=A0

Is there something else to do it?

=A0

Thanks in anticipation,
