I never thought I'd be able to receive a signal on 500kHz from so far away; this is astonishing! I am in a fairly buit up area and it's really very noisy, but I decided to monitor the frequency anyway.... The antenna is an inverted L for top band up at about 8m above ground level, also trapped for 40 and 80m so hardly ideal. RX is an FT990, no filters, no preamps etc, just straight to PC. First Decode at 2154, similar to Andy's but then after a short gap reasonably reliable all evening. The start time has been moved up as las Tuesday's session produced copy as soon as the transmitter was fired up at 2200Z. It will be interesting to see how early stations are able to receive the beacon. Sunset here today is 2206Z. In years past CT1DRP on 137 kHz was received (QRSS30) here as early as 2015Z - more than an hour before sunset. Reports and 'spots' uploaded to the WSPR database are appreciated.
