I don't know Andy, my local environment is very quiet at the moment but it could also be a trick of the ionosphere... My aerial tonight is far from optimal on 600m. It is a horizontal dipole for 80m (actually an FD-4 windom with the original balun) about 10m above GND. I just checked the noise floor and it is -128dBm with the antenna connected and -131dBm with a 50 ohm dummy load, both in a 230Hz BW, so your signal is very close to the RX noise floor here... The S/N of your signal would surely be a few dB better if I had a decent aerial.
