There is something called DFCW where high and low tones correspond to dashes and dots of Morse. That way you don't need to learn another code - it is also quicker because Morse characters have less than 7 1/2 symbols. Just imagine trying to work out all that figure shift/letter shift stuff when you have lost half the signal in the QRM!
